Gravel & Rock ordered online by the ton. A dump truck delivers to your Nevada address and unloads right where you point.

A load of gravel or rock starts with a clear idea of what the material needs to do. At Gravel Monkey, you order by the ton online, and a dump truck brings it to the address you give us anywhere in Nevada.
Delivery is priced by ZIP at checkout, and loads range from 1 to more than 40 tons. The truck shows up in the window you choose, and you approve the load before it leaves the quarry.
Not every gravel product works for every job. The wrong size or shape can wash out, fail to compact, or drain too slowly. Here is what each of our products is best matched for.
| Product | Best for | Note |
|---|---|---|
| 3/8" Natural Pea Gravel | Play areas, patios | Rounded and smooth, does not lock together well on slopes. |
| River Rock | Beds, borders, dry creek beds | Stays in place but does not compact for a walking surface. |
| 2-4" River Rock | Larger decorative cover, erosion control | Thick pieces resist washout on gentle slopes. |
| Drain Rock | French drains, dry wells | Clean, angular rock that passes water quickly. |
| Decomposed Granite | Paths and patios that compact firm | Needs a stable base and periodic topping to stay tight. |
| Crusher Run | Compacting base under everything | Contains fines that lock into a solid layer. |
| Road Base | Lanes and pads that carry trucks | Engineered for heavy loads, needs proper compaction. |
Each project type favors a different material. Use this table to match your project to the right product and depth.
| Project | What to order | Depth or note |
|---|---|---|
| Dry creek bed | River Rock or 2-4" River Rock | 4 to 6 inches of rock over landscape fabric. |
| Path that stays firm | Decomposed Granite | 3 to 4 inches compacted, with a crusher-run base. |
| Landscape beds | 3/8" Natural Pea Gravel or River Rock | 2 to 3 inches for coverage; avoid steep areas. |
| Erosion control on a slope | 2-4" River Rock | 4 to 6 inches, keyed into the slope. |
| French drain | Drain Rock | 12 to 18 inches around a perforated pipe. |
Across the cities we deliver to in Nevada, annual precipitation runs from about 6 to 12 inches. Freezing days range from about 13 to 182 days a year below 32F, depending on where in the state. Most of the state sits in the moderate band for ground freezing. Freeze and thaw cycles work on loose material all winter, which is the argument for the deeper first lift.
The most common soil groups across our served cities are C and A. Group C soils drain slowly, while group A soils drain fast. This means base depth guidance varies: a crusher-run base should be deeper in areas with more freeze-thaw cycles, especially where soils are in group C and hold moisture.
Low rainfall across the state reduces washout risk for surface gravel, but does not reduce the need for a compacted base in freeze-prone areas.

Tonnage depends on the area you want to cover and the depth you need. Use our material calculators to get a close estimate based on your project dimensions and the product you choose.
Gravel and rock are heavy materials, so ordering by the ton with delivery by dump truck saves you multiple trips. You order online, and delivery is priced by ZIP at checkout. Loads range from 1 to over 40 tons. Free delivery applies on qualifying orders. Use code FIRSTTIMER50 for $50 off your first order.
The delivery date is chosen at checkout and must be at least 3 business days after the order date. You choose a morning or afternoon window. You get an email confirmation when the order is placed, then a second email closer to the date with the scheduled window and a photo of the material being loaded. Delivery only goes ahead once you approve that second email.
A valid phone number is required to confirm the delivery. You agree to be available, or to have someone you nominate at the site, during the delivery window. The site needs a road width of at least 12 feet for the truck. For more detail, see our Delivery information page, read About Gravel Monkey, or check Customer reviews.
Along with gravel and rock, we deliver these materials by the ton across the state.
Nevada receives 6 to 12 inches of rain annually across the cities we serve, but our delivery schedule is not affected by seasonal road restrictions. We coordinate with local haulers who navigate those conditions when they arise. Customers should check with county road departments for any local restrictions that might affect site access.
The state's soil groups are predominantly C and A, and freezing days range from 13 to 182 per year. In areas with more freeze-thaw cycles, a deeper crusher-run base is recommended. The moderate frost band across most of the state means the first lift of gravel or rock should be deeper than in warmer climates to prevent frost heave.
