Washed sand has been thoroughly cleaned to remove silt, clay, dust, and organic materials. It falls within the acceptable aggregate range, typically between 0.075 mm (passing a No. 200 sieve) and 4.75 mm (retained on a No. 4 sieve).

It’s important to know that “washed sand” doesn’t refer to just one product. • Compact the subgrade soil thoroughly.

Step 2: Install Barriers and Base Layers

• Lay geotextile fabric if needed (especially over clay soils).
• Install a gravel base, compacting it in 2–4 inch lifts for maximum stability.

Step 3: Spread and Screed Bedding Sand

• Set screed rails (e.g., pipes) and spread washed bedding sand between them.
