Crushed Concrete ordered online by the ton. A dump truck delivers to your Diamondhead address and unloads right where you point.
If you need a strong, angular base for a driveway, parking pad, or site access, crushed concrete delivers the same compaction as crushed stone at a lower cost per ton. Diamondhead gets about 66 inches of precipitation a year, so drainage and washout need to be part of the plan from the start.
Gravel Monkey carries five sizes of this recycled material, from a fine 3/8-inch dressing to heavy 2-to-3-inch fill. The truck delivers directly to your address.
The smaller sizes work as a leveling course or top dressing; the larger ones lock together for a stable base. Every product comes from our network of regional suppliers and is sold by the ton.
| Product | Best use | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Crushed Concrete | General recycled base material | All-purpose blend for most base layers |
| 3/8" Crushed Concrete | Fine top dressing and leveling | Works well under pavers and as a final surface |
| 3/4" Crushed Concrete | The standard compacting base size | Most common for driveways and parking areas |
| 1"-1 1/2" Crushed Concrete | Heavy base under drives and pads | Provides extra stability on soft ground |
| 2"-3" Crushed Concrete | Deep fill and mud control | Ideal for wet spots and building up low areas |
The table below matches typical jobs with the right crushed concrete size. Depth recommendations assume a compacted base over average soil conditions.
| Project | What to order | Depth or note |
|---|---|---|
| Parking pad | 3/4" Crushed Concrete | 4 inches after compaction |
| Backfill behind a wall | Crushed Concrete (general blend) | Place in lifts of 6 to 8 inches |
| Driveway base on a budget | 1"-1 1/2" Crushed Concrete | 6 inches for light vehicles, 8 for trucks |
| Temporary site access | 2"-3" Crushed Concrete | 8 to 12 inches over soft ground |
| Grade raising under a slab | 1"-1 1/2" Crushed Concrete | Fill and compact, minimum 4 inches |
Only about 16 days a year drop below 32 degrees Fahrenheit in Diamondhead. That limited freeze-thaw cycle means the ground does not lift and settle as much as it does further north. Without a hard freeze to lift the surface, drainage and washout are what decide how long the material lasts.
Soils mapped in the Diamondhead area are commonly moderately well drained. That usually means you need less base stone under the surface layer than you would on clay. But the ground around Diamondhead is in dual hydrologic group B/D, so the actual behavior depends on how well the site is drained. Where it is drained, water infiltrates at a moderate rate; where it is not, most rain runs across the surface instead of soaking in. That makes a deeper base and proper drainage planning more important than the numbers alone suggest.
Snowfall averages about 0 inches a year, so plowing damage to a loose surface is not a concern. The work window is wide, but scheduling the delivery after a stretch of dry weather keeps the truck from rutting soft ground.
You calculate the tonnage by multiplying the length, width, and depth of the area you are covering, then converting cubic feet to tons. The conversion factor changes with the size you choose, so it is easier to use the material calculators on the Gravel Monkey site for an accurate number.

Crushed concrete works as a base, but you may want a different surface or a material to go underneath. These options are also available in Diamondhead.
Only about 16 days a year drop below 32 degrees Fahrenheit. The ground does not freeze deeply, so you can order and install crushed concrete almost any time of year. The main risk is wet ground from rain, not frost.
About 74 days a year bring at least a tenth of an inch of rain. Scheduling the delivery onto firm, dry ground helps the truck move in and the material spread without leaving ruts.
The driver will dump the crushed concrete at a spot you agree on, as close to the work area as access and safety allow. You must have a road width of at least 12 feet for the truck.
Crushed concrete is recycled and costs less per ton. Both materials are angular and compact well. For the same depth, crushed stone can be slightly stronger, but crushed concrete is a proven base for driveways, pads, and site access when installed correctly.
Whether you are putting down a new driveway, building a parking pad, or raising grade for a slab, Gravel Monkey can bring the right load to your site. Visit the Diamondhead city hub to start an order or check availability in your area.
