Crushed Concrete ordered online by the ton. A dump truck delivers to your Terre Haute address and unloads right where you point.
Crushed concrete is a compactable recycled base material. You buy it by the ton online, and we deliver it to your site by dump truck. Terre Haute gets about 44 inches of precipitation a year, so drainage and washout planning are part of any crushed concrete job.
Orders run from one ton to 40 or more. Delivery is priced by your ZIP code at checkout, with free delivery on qualifying orders. First-time customers take $50 off with code FIRSTTIMER50.
Each size of crushed concrete serves a different purpose. The table below lists what each product is for and what it is not ideal for.
| Product | Best use | Note |
|---|---|---|
| Crushed Concrete | General recycled base for drives and pads | Not for a finished surface; it dusts and settles. |
| 3/8" Crushed Concrete | Fine top dressing and leveling | Too small for a heavy base; use under paver bedding. |
| 3/4" Crushed Concrete | Standard compacting base size | The most common choice for a stable, load-bearing layer. |
| 1"-1 1/2" Crushed Concrete | Heavy base under drives and pads | Not for thin lifts; locks well when compacted. |
| 2"-3" Crushed Concrete | Deep fill and mud control | Too rough for a wearing course; use as subbase. |
Choose the product by the surface type and load. The table shows common projects with a recommended size and a depth note.
| Project | What to order | Depth or note |
|---|---|---|
| Driveway base on a budget | Crushed Concrete | 4 to 6 inches compacted over geotextile. |
| Grade raising under a slab | 3/4" Crushed Concrete | Fill in lifts, compact each to spec. |
| Backfill behind a wall | 1"-1 1/2" Crushed Concrete | Drainable; wrap core with fabric. |
| Parking pad | 3/4" Crushed Concrete | 6 inches, topped with a finer binder. |
| Temporary site access | 2"-3" Crushed Concrete | First lift of 8 to 12 inches, then choke with fines. |
About 77 days a year bring at least a tenth of an inch of rain. Scheduling your delivery onto firm ground avoids ruts and compaction issues.
Around 111 days drop below 32F each year. That many freezing days narrows the work window and makes the ground move with each cycle. Terre Haute also averages about 15 inches of snow annually, and plowing can tear up a loose crushed concrete surface if it is not compacted well. Freeze and thaw cycles work on loose material all winter, which is the argument for the deeper first lift.
Soils mapped in the Terre Haute area are commonly well drained. That means you may need less base stone under the surface layer, but confirm your own soil before ordering. The ground around Terre Haute soaks water up quickly and produces little runoff, so less drainage stone is needed under the surface.
Estimating tonnage starts with the area and the compacted depth. Our material calculators let you enter your dimensions and get a tonnage figure for any crushed concrete size. Use that number to place your order online.
You order by the ton on our website. At checkout you pick a delivery window: morning, 7 am to 12 pm, or afternoon, 12 pm to 5 pm. The delivery date must be at least 3 business days after the order date. A valid phone number is required, and you get an email confirmation followed by a second email closer to the date with the scheduled window and a photo of the material being loaded. Delivery only goes ahead once you approve that second email.
You or someone you nominate must be at the site during the window. The site needs a road width of at least 12 feet for the truck. If access is restricted, we unload as close as safely possible. Delivery timing can move for product availability, traffic or weather, and we keep you updated on any major delay. For full details, see our About Gravel Monkey page, our Customer reviews, and our Delivery information page.
Crushed concrete works under or alongside several other aggregates. These materials complement it well:
Yes. With about 44 inches of precipitation a year, washout and drainage are real concerns for any unbound aggregate. Plan for slopes and fabric to keep the crushed concrete in place.
