Gravel & Rock ordered online by the ton. A dump truck delivers to your Kingsland address and unloads right where you point.

Kingsland gets about 54 inches of precipitation a year, so drainage and washout planning guide every gravel order here. The right size and shape of rock saves repair work later.
We stock seven sizes of gravel and rock, each with a specific job. The choice of material changes how the surface behaves under rain, traffic, and weight.
Crusher Run is the most common base material ordered in Kingsland. It compacts to a firm, stable layer that supports stone, concrete, and asphalt above it. The table below lists every gravel and rock size we deliver, what each one is for, and a note on how it performs.
| Product | Best for | Note |
|---|---|---|
| 3/8" Natural Pea Gravel | Play areas, patios | Rounded and smooth, no sharp edges, drains well. |
| River Rock | Beds, borders, dry creek beds | Shapes that stay in place in moving water without washing out. |
| 2-4" River Rock | Larger decorative cover and erosion control | Heavier stones that resist slope washout better than smaller rock. |
| Drain Rock | French drains and dry wells | Clean, angular rock that leaves voids for water to move through. |
| Decomposed Granite | Paths and patios that compact firm | Angular fines lock together but drain better than crusher fines. |
| Crusher Run | Compacting base under everything | Stone dust and crushed rock that packs to a hard, stable surface. |
| Road Base | Lanes and pads that carry trucks | Larger crushed stone with fines for heavy traffic and load bearing. |
The five jobs below are the ones Kingsland property owners order gravel and rock for most often. Each row matches a project to the product that works and gives a typical depth or installation note.
| Project | What to order | Depth or note |
|---|---|---|
| Path that stays firm | Decomposed Granite | 2 to 3 inches, compacted in lifts |
| Landscape beds | River Rock | 1.5 to 2 inches, over landscape fabric |
| Erosion control on a slope | 2-4" River Rock | 3 to 4 inches on geotextile |
| Dry creek bed | River Rock | 2 to 3 inches, with larger rock at edges |
| French drain | Drain Rock | 1.5 to 2 inches around the pipe |
Kingsland sees about 76 wet days a year, which means scheduling delivery so the truck sets up on firm ground matters. Without a hard freeze to lift the surface, drainage and washout are what decide how long the material lasts. The freeze cycle here is short: roughly 14 days a year drop below 32°F, and ground freezing is not a significant factor.
Soils mapped in the Kingsland area are commonly very poorly drained. That means more base stone under the surface layer is often needed to keep the finished grade stable. Ground around Kingsland falls in dual hydrologic group B/D: where the soil is drained it takes water in at a moderate rate; where it is not, water runs across the surface. Because whether a site is drained or not varies, drainage and a deeper base matter more here than in places with naturally well-drained soils.
Volume converts to weight differently for each material because rock density changes with size and shape. Use our material calculators to enter your area in square feet and depth, and it gives the tons required for the product you chose. That number is what you order by.

When you order gravel and rock, consider these companion materials that Kingsland customers often add to the same delivery.
Yes. With about 54 inches of precipitation per year, drainage drives the choice more than freeze-thaw. Angular rock like drain rock or crusher run moves water through the base, while rounded rock like pea gravel stays porous but does not compact. Plan for water movement under and through the surface.
No. Kingsland sees only about 14 freezing days a year, and ground freezing is not a significant factor. Without a sustained freeze, the surface does not heave, so you do not need extra depth for frost protection. Focus on load bearing and drainage instead.
